Alphabeasties – Book

Alicia sent me this snazzy looking alphabet book that I really want to get our baby girl. Every animal in the book is formed by the letter that the animal's name begins with. So you'll find a kangaroo formed out of kkk's or an elephant formed out of eee's. Pretty clever idea. And hey I say it's never too early to get my baby thinking about typography and design, heh. Now that I think about it, being a typography aficionado, this book might be more for me than her.

Dad Uses Google to Help Deliver Baby

Media_httpimg27imageshackusimg27408screenshot20091217at920png_ssdfedyhdstfczt

One of my worst nightmares is not making it to the hospital in time for Alicia to deliver our baby daughter. Therefore, by default, the burden duty of delivering the baby would rest in my hands, instead of our well trained doctor. I can see it now, we are at the movie theater enjoying some popcorn, when all of a sudden Alicia gets some mad contractions (which of course would be right at the funniest part of the movie). Before I can even say the words "OH SNAP, I'm going to go get the car", she grabs my hand, squeezes tight and screams "NO! I am having this baby. Right here. Right NOW. Get ready baby daddy."

OK so maybe that's a little extreme but hey you never know. Thankfully, since our Bradley birthing classes, I feel way more prepared with all this baby stuff. But I still have come to the conclusion, and rightfully so, that I am not prepared, nor qualified, to deliver a little baby.

Well Leroy Smith didn't have such luck with making it to a hospital in time for his baby's arrival. As a result, he did exactly what I would have done if I were in the same situation. Amidst all the screaming from my wife I would grab my phone, and search Google for "how to deliver a baby". Needless to say Leroy found step-by-step instructions and delivered his 6lb 11 oz daughter. Congrats to them and a big congrats to Google for being a great wing man. Take that Bing.com.

When Leroy Smith’s wife unexpectedly went into labor with the couple’s fourth child, the nervous dad turned to Google to help him safely deliver the baby. Smith had called a midwife, but his wife’s contractions came so quickly, he felt he had no other choice but to grab his trusty BlackBerry and Google "how to deliver a baby.” The search led him to wikiHow where step-by-step instructions assisted the frantic father in delivering 6lb 11oz daughter Mahalia Meriate Angela Smith.

I'm loving the designs from Jessica Hische, and I want this poster for my little baby girl's room. Our baby is only a couple months away, and I am always looking for stuff to buy her now. This is not a good sign, she already has me wrapped around her finger :)
